Sam 4 months and Will 2 years 4 Months

So much to catch up on in my blog but I think the most important blogs are my monthly updates on Sam and Will.  So here it is - the 4 month post on my growing boys.  Its crazy because Sam changes so much from month to month physically but Will changes just as much with his interests, new sayings and crazy questions.

Stats: 16lbs 2oz

Likes: Sam has changed so much from 3 months to 4 months it is absolutely amazing.  He is the happiest, calmest, sweetest and easiest little guy every.  He is so go with the flow.  Naps on our runs or on the walk home on the park, eats anywhere, flashes these sweet calm smiles all day long and GIGGLES!  It is so adorable.  I nibble his neck and he breaks out into these belly laughs.  He can be put anywhere still and is very happy (bouncy seat, jungle mat, pack and play).  But what he is really into is watching big brother.  Although he is barely rolling he will move his body as much as his fat little self will allow to see what Will is up to.  He loves to have me hold him up to the train table to catch a view.  The other day he got a bit rough with the track and Will thought it was hilarious.  Sam is sleeping well (up once a night) and sleeping til 7 or 8am.  Also taking nice long afternoon naps.  He rarely wakes up crying and when I go in he is happily watching his mobile that he turns on himself!?!?!  Goof ball.  Cracks me up in the middle of the night when I know he is awake and I hear the song of his mobile over the monitor.  Rolls form daily on his big ol' belly but we are sticking to milk until the 6 month mark.  Sam also is taking the bottle - THANK GOODNESS!!! And is heading to bed at 6:30pm which has been a great change for our family.  Still such a snuggle bug!

Dislikes:  THE HEAT!!  This month has been warm and Sam is definitely not a fan.  His little body gets warm so fast so we have to be careful at the parks.  We get out early so Will can play and tend to get home by 11am to beat the heat for our little friend.  Sam gets super tired and really hates getting dressed before his bottle - he is basically frantic until we pop that bottle in his mouth.  Still hates the car and I expect no changes for a while with that one.

Of course Will needed to try the sticker :)

On very rare occasions Will asks to hold Sam - its pretty darn cute!

Will Stats: 30lbs (we put him on the scale at the Southwest counter before our flight home to CT)

Likes:  Will's main obsession right now is TRUCKS - mail truck, dump truck, skid steer, cranes, pickup trucks, excavators, bull dozers - EVERYTHING trucks.  He will go to a park and sit in a sandbox playing with all the trucks for hours.  On all our walks he is constantly saying "Mommy wook (look) its a....(insert truck name here)".  He is even calling out the UPS and Fedex trucks.  Obsessed!!!  He is also into his legos that you build into trucks.  Trains have also had a comeback.  Some of his best lines right now are:
"Mommy you wait right there 1 minute I need to go get..."
"Oh cool"
"Thats awesome Mommy" with a thumbs up
"5 more minutes" with a palm up at me
"Mommy mommy wook wook"

Dislikes:  Will is definitely starting to test his limits.  We see a lot more sass then we used to.  He likes to sit in the chair up to the counter to eat or at his little table - not a huge fan of the high chair anymore.  Its all big boy all the time.  He likes for us to change his diaper after going #2 right away which is a good sign for potty training to come!  Has trouble holding himself back if someone brings a super awesome digger to the park.  Waiting for his turn is really really hardddddd.  Oh the excitement.  Will is still a super happy, silly little guy.

Grandmommy comes to town!

We were all very excited to have Grandmommy for a long weekend in June.  This would mark the first time she meets Sam and yet another trip Will tries to keep Grandmommy busy from morning til bedtime.  We had a great trip!! Finally Chicago some weather that did not leave Barb deathly cold!  We had some beautiful summer days filled with parks, museums, nights out for Jason and I and lots and lots of playing!

Out for Pizza and Grandmommy was cozy in the booth with both boys

Morning snuggles watching the Veggies

Mom, Son and Grandbabies - excellent color coordination :)

Barb is always teaching Will new things.  Will was so into this sticker book and Barb has the patience of a Saint!

If you have the strength Sam just wants to be held and snuggled (ALL DAY!)

All I have to say here is sorry little buddy.  You were upset before we even started.  But I don't to miss documenting your first haircut at 3.5 Months Old.  Just a little off the top :)

So sorry little buddy - for the record I fed you right after in the middle of the Aveda hair salon.

Big brother got a haircut too!

Sam - 3 Months Old, Will - 2 Years 3 months

Sam's Stats:
15lbs 2oz
24 inches

Will 3 Months

Sam's Likes:
Sammy boy you are such a joy at 3 months.  Sam has become even more chill if thats at all possible.  During the day when he is awake he loves just laying in his pack and play looking up at the bears, listening to the music on the fishy player.  A big highlight in the evening for all of us is getting the boys in their diapers to do exercises.  Its so cute - Will thinks it is so cool and asks for it every night.  It is nothing more then both boys laying on their backs and I move their legs back and forth and sing silly songs.  Sam goes to bed a bit later then Will did as a 3 month old but I don't mind because it gives us some time to just be us.  He love watching me talk - his whole face lights up.  Sweet Sam likes kisses under his neck - it makes him giggle.  Baths are still a highlight of Sam's night and he is getting better at not totally losing it during the after bath jammies time.  Finally liking the stroller a bit more as we have been running a couple times a week.  Sam still nurse so well on the fly and put up with our busy schedule of your bother.  This came as a total shock but sweet boy is totally sleeping through the night (for now).  He goes down at 9ish and sleeps til 5 or 6.  Its amazing!! Then he goes back down til 8 or 9 (one morning even 10am!!!!) Crazy.  I am sure this will change as he gets older but for now its been nice having the morning with just Will to play kitty kat :)

Sam's Dislikes:
Taking a bottle :(  Still working on it every day - can't loose hope.  Getting to hot.  Kid breaks a sweat on the drop of a dime - just like his mommy and daddy!

Wills Likes:
Oh crazy boy Will.  You are still one heck of a clown.  Singing and dancing through out the day.  Your top songs right now are: Will had a good day, Kumbaya, where is thumb kin, choo train is coming down the track and all the typical ones!  Your big interest right now is trucks.  Loves playing with his micro dump trucks, back hoe, bull dozer etc.  He just got two new ones which are a great addition to the fleet.  The highlight of his day is when he can line up all his trucks and play the "truck tunes" songs on the iphone.  He almost knows all of these goofy songs.  The sandbox has become a big interest too - making roads in the sand and putting chalk along the way for different stores (jewel, whole foods, target, gumbo).  Gymbo songs are still a hit and music class.  The weather has been nice enough for us to be at lots of parks.  This year Will is totally stable on most of the structures but it doesn't really matter because its all about dirt, sticks, wood chips, rocks.  He comes home SO dirty its gross.  Typically a afternoon shower before naps is a must.  Oh Boys!

Wills Dislikes:
Typically 2 year old stuff - getting in a stroller, getting told not to yell, hit, bite.  We are seeing a little more jealousy of baby brother lately.  Couple wacks to the head, bit of biting mommy in frustration but over all as long as we keep Will busy outside then he kinda forgets Sam is even around which is fine for now :).  He has developed a few fears (ants, when the thunder turns on, loud noises (moises)) but nothing really that keeps him from doing anything.  Doesn't love veggies - again like most 2 year olds.  Tends to stick with pasta, pizza, carbs, fruit galore! and sweets.  Any sweet he can get his paws on.

Daddy's Birthday Party

This year was a big year for Daddy's birthday party.  Will was very into the idea of a party, presents, cupcakes, decorations so we decided to go all out!  We went to the dollar store to pick out a theme - it was a toss up between a Luau and a Sports Party.  He went back and forth a few times then landed on a "Soccer Ball" party.  Next up was picking out daddy's present.  Will decided that a fake blackberry toy was the best gift.  Awesome.  I let him hold it during the walk home and heard him talking up a storm.  Next thing I know he had opened it and was saying "Daddy no like this, Will keep it."  Smart kid.  But we wrapped it up regardless.  We also made special cupcakes.  This was a two day process.  Baked them one day and frosted the next day.  All very exciting.  Here are some pictures from our fun day!  Happy Birthday Daddy!  We love you so so much!

Step one - Bake the cupcakes

Step 2 - Make sure Gnocchi is fed his kitty food
