Sweater ready for Fall 2011

Normally I dress Will in all baby clothes - sleepers, one piece rompers, neutral colors - but I just couldn't resist a good argyle sweater (just like daddy wears :) )!!

Crawling?

Not yet....but any day now!!

Look what the cow dragged in...

Is that even the saying? I am not really sure but I grew up in Ellington with lots of cows and two of my great friends from Ellington came to visit us!! Megan and her husband Kevin drove all the way from Iowa City (4 hours!!) and Kate and Roman flew in from Dallas! What a treat it was to have them here and we had so much fun catching up, rubbing Megans 21 week pregnant belly and hearing of Kate's travels all over the US. Will had a bad cold for the visit so was needing lots of extra snuggles from Kate and Megan. On Monday Kate, Roman, Will and I had the whole day to play!! Roman was a great sharer and let Will play with his new Notre Dame football - which Will loved. When Will woke up one morning at 5am and I brought him out to sit on big chair, he was sick as a dog all stuffed up, but the second he saw the football he nearly jumped off my lap to play with it. Roman I hope you don't get Will's cold because he also licked the entire football :) OOPS!

Here are some pictures from our visit. Thank you so much for making the trip Megan and Kate. It meant so much to me and it was so fun too see you both and catch up.

Visiting Wrigley Field with Kate + Will (the trip was mostly for Roman who had the biggest smile on his face the whole time!)

Will LOVES his Auntie Kate - she took him on many rides in the Bjorn!

Kate, Roman and Will playing on Monday - Will was a lucky guy to get all their attention.

"Romie can I please have your new football!" Love Will

Best buds!

Kevin and Meggie practicing for Baby Conlin!! They are going to be great parents!!!!

The Boys of Kenmore - Getting Big!

Will, Griffen and Liam have formed a boys only club called the "Boys of Kenmore." We see at least one of his neighbor buddies at least once a day for a coffee, a chat on the street or a playdate. I joke that before I had Will I had zero friends (which is a true story) and now two of my closest friends live on each side of me! To think they lived there the whole time!! HAHA Katie (Griffen's Mom), Emily (Liam's Mom) and I are having so much fun with our boys. We are all so happy we get to stay home and watch them grow. Will is about 4 months older then Griffen and Liam and kind of takes advantage of the situation - chewing on their hands, resting his feet on their backs, hogging all the toys - but watch out Will when they getting bigger payback is coming :)

Here are some pictures of the growing three amigos!

When Mom is away the boys will play!

Last weekend I made my first trip alone, away from Will for 24 hours to Boston for Kelly and Mike's wedding. So that meant Jason and Will were going to be home alone for the day and night to do whatever they wanted!! I must say it was pretty brave of Jason to take this on as Will is still hooked on his Momma's milk and isn't always sleeping through the night - but I left over 90 oz of milk in the fridge and I said when in doubt give Will a bottle :). We all did great and had an awesome time. I showed up in Boston without a hitch at 10am and got to spend the morning with Em, Nick and Jamesy boy. We had so much fun going to the park, playing at the house, eating lunch and watching Jamesy be such a silly boy. Nick stayed home to watch James so Em and I went as dates to the wedding. After a couple glasses of wine we kept saying "James and Will who?" - haha kidding. The next morning I flew out at 8am and was home to my sweet boy (and hubby) by 11am. When I got home I called Jason from the street to bring Will out to meet me and I also needed him to parallel park the car because I am awful at it these days (not like the good old days). I didn't put will down for the next hour. Feed him, snuggled him, and then rocked him to sleep! It was great to get away but so good to come home!! Jason was such a trooper and sent me a text about every hour to help with how much I missed Will. Here is a photo journal of the day - Enjoy!

A day of picture text's from Jason:

7:30am - "Morning mom - ready for my day of football - Go Tech!"

11am - outfit change and exersaucer fun!

Supposedly this happened while the picture was being taken - haha

Dinner time - practicing with his sippy

"Come home mom - I have been up since 5:30am and Dad needs a nap!"

Meanwhile in Boston....
Walking to the park with Em and Jamesy - he always reaches up for two hands - so sweet

Showing KiKi how to climb

James being James and in the middle of the playground lies down - so silly

Helping me unpack my suit case and slipped one of his books in which I found when I got home
Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Kelly O'Donnell! What a fun wedding!!

What do you get when you bring Daddy into Babies R' Us?

A picture text from across the store saying - "Can I have this? Love Will"

Today is my favorite age!

It seems like yesterday I was pregnant or Will was a tiny baby or we were going on hour after hour of walks so he could sleep for more then 30 minutes at a time. How did time go so quickly??? Because I only have a few readers I figure I would use my blog tonight to ask Will very nicely to stop growing up - although it seems like each day I think to myself, "Now this is my favorite age." Like today at the park when it was just Will and I on a blanket and out of no where one silly little noise I kept making had him in a full belly laugh, which turned me into a full belly laugh I was sure there was nothing better in the whole wide world then being right where I was with my baby (well of course if Jason was there it would be perfection) but this was second best. As I hugged him so tight I though "don't grow up - stay this perfect forever." But I guess I can't turn Will into Peter Pan and am just thankful for for everyday I get to spend with my little buddy and the millions of memories we make in a short 24 hour day! Here is a quick snapshot into our day!

Morning playtime - Will figured out how to tip over his toy basket so it was a messy morning

Photo shoot with a very wiggly boy - gave up on that picture!

Enjoying the crisp fall air on a morning run

And he's off! Trying to crawl at the park

Sleepy boy listening to music in his high chair after dinner! I would be sleepy to after a full day of runs, playing with friends at the park, swings, a walk, trip to another park, walk around Anthropology and a starbucks run! I keep this little guy busy and we have so much fun :)

Love you Will - I give you permission to grow up but always love your mommy as much as I love you!

Silly days with Will

Splish splash in his bath seat

Help I fell into the swing!

Oh hello there! (peaking up at me in the stroller through the window on the shade cover)

Found me again - different stroller same window. Smart little guy

7 months old!!

Sept 5th 2011 - 7 months Old!!! The biggest things that have happened in the past 30 days is that Will now loves eating his baby food and is trying so hard to crawl! He has eaten:

- rice cereal (hated)
- apples (I think he had a reaction to apples so we are going to try again later)
- sweet potatoes (loves)
- carrots (loves)
- pears (loves)
- prunes (loves)
- peas (gaged so I mix them with other foods)
- oatmeal (mixed with pears and he loves)
- banana (loves)
- peaches (didn't love at first but mix with pears)

We also think in the next 2 weeks Will might be on the move. We think he has crawling on his mind 24 hours a day. Even when I am feeding him he will rock back and forth as if he is trying to crawl. The best is in the middle of the night we will peak on the monitor when he wakes up he will be rocking back and forth on all fours. Silly Will - slow down you are just a baby :)

Cookie or a cracker?

Here is a quick movie of Will eating his first cracker - or cookie as we call it. I kinda freaked out in the middle of him eating it because he got a huge piece in his mouth. Although the cracker melts in your mouth super quick I proceed to swipe it out of his mouth. He probably got pretty confused what the point of the whole thing was!
